Linda has spent nearly a decade in public accounting working on everything from tax returns, reviews and compilations to bookkeeping, payrolls and sales & use taxes. She has worked with clients from various industries including construction, manufacturing, food/bar service, retail and more. Linda is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and has taught client and community classes to improve QB efficiency and effectiveness. Linda is a member of the AICPA and the FICPA
Linda has worked in every accounting position available in industry from AP/AR to CFO. This broad expanse of experience gives her a unique approach to solving problems and finding solutions for your business. Linda is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. She served overseas during Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield providing critical parts to support the air mission. We would like to celebrate all of our veterans so please let us know if you are a veteran too.
Linda graduated from Wilmington University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Management both Summa Cum Laude. She holds an active Florida CPA license and has been licensed in Tennessee (inactive), Texas (inactive) and Alabama (inactive). Linda has been a QuickBooks ProAdvisor certified in Desktop, Enterprise Solution and Point of Sale as well as QBO. She takes her continuing education seriously because she knows it is the way to provide you the most up to date knowledge and expertise.
Linda has served as President for the Northeast Florida Chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance 2016-2018. She was the Board Treasurer and CFO of Trinity River Mission in Dallas 2012-2014 and was a member of Women in Defense for 2017-2018. Linda's husband David was Chair of Criminology & Criminal Justice at University of North Florida prior to purchasing Ocean 60 restaurant and martini bar in Atlantic Beach. Their son Robert hopes to one day be an engineer or CPA.
Margaret started her accounting career in 1975 with KPMG in their Jacksonville office where she worked for three years in auditing and consulting. She came to Knutzen & Associates in 2008 and was admitted to the partnership in 2010. In January, 2012 when James Knutzen retired, Margaret became one of the three primary shareholders of the firm. In this capacity she assumed the administrative duties for the firm and contributed as much time as possible to both the auditing and tax practices throughout the year. Margaret is qualified to perform audits of business and non-profit organizations. She has experience with HUD audits and filings with the Federal Clearing House. Margaret has extensive experience in preparing tax returns for non-profit organizations (Form 990) and small businesses.
Margaret Dodson is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service where she earned her Bachelor of Science of Foreign Service in December, 1972. She also attended the University of North Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science of Business Administration in August, 1975.
Margaret worked for several Fortune 500 companies, eventually attaining the position of Vice-President/Controller for the local division of Champion International.
Margaret has served several organizations including the following: Healthy Start Coalition of Northeast Florida (former Treasurer); San Jose Catholic Church (former chair of the Finance Council); Planned Giving Council of Northeast Florida. Margaret is also a regional representative of the Florida US Masters Swimming.
Todd began his accounting career in 1987. He initially joined a tax practice in Orange Park and practiced as an enrolled agent until he obtained his public accounting certification. He started at Knutzen & Associates in 1993 and has worked in all aspects of the practice since that time. Todd was first admitted as a stockholder in 2000 and in January, 2012 when James Knutzen retired, he became one of the three primary shareholders of the firm. Todd's primary responsibility has been the firm's extensive tax and consulting practice. Todd has successfully represented many clients before the IRS. His tax preparation experience includes individual, corporate, non-profit, partnership and fiduciary returns. He has experience with both federal and state tax return preparation. Todd also has 20 years experience in non-profit audit engagements that included Yellow Book and HUD audits. He is a member of the AICPA and the FICPA
Todd is a Jacksonville native and a proud graduate of the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelors of Arts degree. He continued his education at the University of North Florida achieving his MBA.
Todd began his accounting career in 1987 after several years in banking.
Megan started her accounting career at Dufresne & Associates in November 2012 and spent four successful years there before coming to James Knutzen & Associates. In April of 2017 she joined Knutzen & Associates as an audit manager and has continued to serve both non-profit and business clients in the audit arena.
Megan McAtee received her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida. She received a second undergraduate degree in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy from the University of North Florida.
Barbara came to James Knutzen & Associates, CPA’s in 2000 and was admitted as a partner of the firm in 2010. In January 2012 when James Knutzen retired, Barbara became one of the three primary shareholders of the firm. She assumed responsibility for the firm’s audit practice and quality control for the next five years. As of January 1, 2019, the firm became The Forde Firm, LLC, where Barbara continues to serve non-profit organizations. She has extensive experience with non-profit audits, Federal Single Audits, and HUD audits. Barbara also has prepared numerous non-profit organization IRS returns (Form 990) for entities of varying size and complexity.
Barbara is a graduate of The Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Chris started her accounting career in 1985 with a Jacksonville local firm now known as Ennis & Pellum where she eventually was promoted to Audit Manager. She came to Knutzen and Assoc. in June, 1994. Chris is qualified to perform and supervise audits of business or non-profit organizations (both Yellow Book and A-133). She also has extensive experience with LSC audits and filings with the Federal Clearing House. Chris has prepared numerous non-profit organization tax returns (Form 990) for entities of varying size and complexity
Chris Gibson is a graduate of the University of South Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Science of Business Administration in Accounting in 1983.
Morgan had the wonderful experience of working as a Tax Intern at Dixon Huges Goodman and then went to work for a Gainsville tax and bookkeeping service, working remotely for a year. She joined The Forde Firm as our first hired employee. She is working in the tax department and learning the audit area as well.
Morgan received her Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Finance from Jacksonville University in 2018. She is currently working toward her MBA from JU and plans to graduate in 2020. She is also beginning to study for the CPA exam. At JU she participated in the Varsity Shooting Team, Gamma Phi Beta, the Accounting Club and Women in Aviation International.
Morgan worked as an Administrative Assistant at Jacksonville University while she persued her Accounting and Finance degree.
